Meet Sudha

Founder & Lead Coach

Sudha Ramaswamy is the founder of Picasso Academics, a college consulting practice born out of both personal experience and a deep commitment to community impact. After guiding her own daughter through the demanding college admissions process—and spending thousands on consultants who offered generic advice and little strategic value—Sudha realized a critical gap in the industry: students were being underserved and misled at one of the most pivotal times in their lives.

Determined to offer something different, Sudha immersed herself in the admissions landscape, combining research, mentorship, and personalized planning to support students in crafting standout applications. Her efforts proved successful, her daughter, Ruby, was admitted to some of the most prestigious institutions in the world, including Harvard, Stanford, and multiple other Ivy League / Elite colleges, ultimately choosing to attend Harvard University.

Inspired by that journey, Sudha and Ruby launched Picasso Academics with a shared mission: to bring strategic, thoughtful, and deeply personal guidance to students who deserve more than cookie-cutter advice.

Today, Sudha works closely with families to help students identify best-fit schools, build strong academic and extracurricular profiles, and craft authentic, high-impact personal statements and supplemental essays. Her approach is grounded in care, integrity, and the belief that every student’s story is a masterpiece— one that deserves to be painted with purpose, creativity, and clarity, just as Picasso transformed the ordinary into the extraordinary.

Outside of advising students, Sudha serves on the Board of Directors for Mission:MathMinds, a nonprofit advancing STEM education for young girls. Whether in the classroom, in the community, or through her philanthropic work, her passion remains the same: helping every student reach their fullest potential.

She holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master of Science in Computer and Information Science from the University of Michigan.
